The ICF San Antonio Chapter invites individuals and companies to volunteer to help us connect and grow awareness of our coaching community and events.  Our volunteers helps us meet our mission to build stronger individuals, businesses, and communities through coaching.

Short-Term Volunteer Opportunities

PEER COACHING FOLLOW-UP VOLUNTEER

✓ Responsible for following up with current peer coaching participants to inquire about their experience and their intent to continue in 2022; and to ensure all members interested in peer coaching are matched with another member with a similar background or experience.

✓ This volunteer will reach out to members via phone and/or email and ask them a few questions. He or she will be provided a list of members interested in peer coaching as well as a list of actual participants in the program. Notes will be recorded in a Google Sheet.

✓ This volunteer will work closely with the Director of Programming and the President of the Board.

✓ Commitment duration: 2-3 weeks 

✓ Approximate number of hours: 10-12

MEMBER OUTREACH VOLUNTEER

✓ Responsible for reaching out to current members, especially members whose membership has lapsed or is about to expire as well as other members who haven’t engaged in professional development or other activities.

✓ This volunteer will reach out to members via phone and/or email and ask them a few questions. He or she will be provided a list of members to reach out to. Notes will be recorded in a Google Sheet.

✓ This volunteer will work closely with the Director of Membership and the President of the Board.

✓ Commitment duration: 2-3 weeks 

✓ Approximate number of hours: 10-12

NEW MEMBER WELCOME VOLUNTEER

✓ Responsible for reaching out to new members, welcoming them to the chapter, and sharing a few tips on how to get started (such as creating their profile, navigating the website, participating in peer coaching, and signing up for professional development).

✓ This volunteer will reach out to members via phone or Zoom and engage in brief conversations. He or she will be provided a list of members to reach out to. Notes will be recorded in a Google Sheet.

✓ This volunteer will work closely with the Director of Membership and the President of the Board.

✓ Commitment duration: first week of each month 

✓ Approximate number of hours: 1-2 per month depending on the number of new members.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT INQUIRY VOLUNTEER

✓ Responsible for reaching out to current members and inquiring about their professional development needs so their input will be considered for the chapter’s calendar of events in 2022.

✓ This volunteer will reach out to members via phone and/or email and ask them a few questions. He or she will be provided a list of members to reach out to. Notes will be recorded in a Google Sheet.

✓ This volunteer will work closely with the Director of Professional Development and the President of the Board.

✓ Commitment duration: 2-3 weeks 

✓ Approximate number of hours: 10-12


Committee Opportunities

Executive Committee

Executive Committee Chair 
Reports to the ICF SA Board 

Purpose: Advises the Board of Directors with the future planning and strategic direction of the ICF San Antonio local chapter to grow in members and presence in the San Antonio community.

✓ Promote the ideals and goals of the ICF Global and ICF San Antonio Chapter.

✓ Participate in planning or review of the annual Chapter budget and plan.

✓Oversee the quarterly implementation of board duties.

✓ Introduce ICF San Antonio to business leaders

✓ Be an ambassador to strategically create awareness amongst the business community.

✓ Advise and oversee the board in establishing and maintaining good governance policies.

✓ Oversee progress and facilitating collaboration among ICF Global and ICF San Antonio chapter members.

 

Programs & Events Committee

Committee Chair of Programs 
Reports to the Director of Programming 

Purpose: Assist the Director of Programming with event planning and logistics and further educate members through on-line education and other programs.

✓ Monthly Learning Meetings

Membership Committee

Committee Chair of Membership
Reports to the Director of Membership 

Purpose: Assist the Director of Membership focus on the growth and retention of membership, welcoming and engaging members

✓ Welcome new members

✓ Track renewals

✓ Manage membership data

✓ Increase membership by an identified goal

✓ Maintain strong connections within the organization

✓ Keep our members engaged throughout the year

✓ Recruit new members

✓ Design programs to increase membership engagement and retention

✓ Grow our local chapter membership!

 

Digital Marketing & Communications Committee

Committee Chair of Digital Marketing & Communications
Reports to the Director of Marketing

Purpose: Assist the Director of Marketing & Communications with content creation and distribution.

The marketing committee will develop and bring forth marketing promotions, placements and positioning as well as provide support with existing programs to assist ICF San Antonio members improve their coaching skills and the growth of their business.

✓ Provide marketing materials, program recommendations and a list of "how to" marketing ideas to coaches

✓ Research and provide members with important marketing data with which members can make better, more informed marketing decisions

✓ Present marketing opportunities to ICFSA  members which make sense in terms of how the promotions will work within  and how the promotion will be successful in driving traffic to member sites

✓ Update the icfsanantonio.org website with content, i.e., programming, membership and community outreach

✓ Provide feedback on existing or previous programs

✓ Communication to the chapter members

✓ Communication with the community and other professional associations

✓ Create marketing materials in print

✓ Create emails

✓ Create social media posts

✓ Create newsletters

✓ Assist in activities related to the marketing of chapter initiatives

✓ Assist in promoting: International Coaching Week, Coaching Mastermind Groups, Monthly Learning Meetings


Finance Committee

Committee Chair of Finance
Reports to the Secretary of the Board

Purpose: Volunteer(s) assists the Treasurer with assembling the development of an annual budget which is conservative, realistic and consistent as well as assist with other administrative services and fiduciary duties as requested

✓ Manages the operational finances of the chapter

✓ Coordinates the budget and operational issues with other board members, as well as administrative services

✓ Assures that chapter operations are in compliance with ICF's Chapter Affiliation Requirements

 

Nominations Committee

Committee Chair of Nominations 
Reports to the Executive Committee

Purpose: The nominating committee is to find the best candidates for the board of director seats. Candidate(s) are those that will give the best service to the organization – what is good for all the members.

✓Identify top candidates

✓Recommend candidates on vacant seats to the board of directors

✓Review competencies and experiences of candidates


Community Development Committee

Committee Chair of Community Development 
Reports to the Director of Development

Purpose: All ICF San Antonio Members are invited to volunteer and/or provide pro-bono coaching services for non-profit organizations to be identified by ICF San Antonio.

✓Pro-bono coaching is a community service project of ICF-San Antonio that aims to prepare people in the greater San Antonio community with the tools to become gainfully employed or to grow personally and or professionally

✓ Volunteers would be responsible for providing pro-bono coaching sessions over a 3-month period

✓ To host the ICF SA pro-bono program at your facility, or to volunteer for one or more sessions, please fill out the volunteer form.

 

Military Outreach Committee

Committee Chair of Military Outreach 
Reports to the Director of Military Outreach

Purpose: All ICF San Antonio Members are invited to volunteer and/or provide pro-bono coaching services for non-profit organizations to be identified by ICF San Antonio.

✓Pro-bono coaching is a community service project of ICF-San Antonio that aims to prepare people in the greater San Antonio community with the tools to become gainfully employed or to grow personally and or professionally

✓ Volunteers would be responsible for reaching out to the branches of the military to advance coaching.

✓ To host the ICF SA pro-bono program at your facility, please fill out the volunteer form.


Student Relations Committee

Committee Chair of Student Relations 
Reports to the Director of Development 

Purpose: Promote awareness of coaching and its impact on unlocking human potential in individuals and businesses.

✓ Reach out to local colleges and universities that have leadership programs to present, provide workshops, or be invited as a guest presenter to promote coaching and or leadership practices

✓ Manages and promotes student engagement within the chapter by developing and executing initiatives such as a scholarship program, internship program, college outreach efforts, and student special interest groups 

✓  Serves as a liaison between local educational institutions and the chapter 

✓ Works with local academia to encourage student participation in local professional chapter meetings 

✓ Communicates with local academia to provide classroom visits to discuss the talent coaching profession, ICF and chapter membership

✓ Student Members may participate on committees, but will not be able to vote, or serve on the Board of Directors

Event Host:

Committee: Programming and Events 

Reports to the Director of Programming

Purpose: Ensure a positive experience for all participants, provide the highest level of member service, during each event hosted by ICF San Antonio.

Welcome participants

Share benefits of ICF San Antonio membership, upcoming events, and other updates using a ready-made template

Introduce speaker

✓ Moderate the session, monitor questions and comments

Thank the speaker and add closing remarks

Tech Support:

Committee: Programming and Events

Purpose: Support the technical support necessary during an ICF San Antonio event.
